All the important jobs that us cat do when hoomins are at home (permanently it seems) without being acknowledged!

I’m also and often helping the hoomins in the kitchen ...here I’m keeping away those dangerous pesky drops!

Here we are again another week has just passed and the hoomins are acting more peculiar than ever (and I’m not just referring to their new trying to get fit obsession…).

You know and when you have just used to have the hoomins around all the time and finally have accepted the fact that they are not to go away any time soon (which really it proves to be not a bad thing after all anymeows)....things then are starting to change again! 

I mean hoomins have always been very unreliable in general as they can never seem to be able to stick to their own decisions when they keep saying that they would do one thing and then decide to do something else instead. You know when they’ve kept saying for weeks now that they were now permanently indoors hoomins and suddenly and unexpectedly pfft they’ve changed their mind and they’ve started going out again....well at least for a little while but more frequently than before...well, my hoomins that is. But I have seen the signs of such things to come as more and more hoomins are now outside again and my own hoomins are getting also excited about being able to go outside again....not to their workplace at least as they are now working apparently permanently from home which of course for meowself and Tolkien is a very good thing....To be honest I have most definitely now changed my mind and I don’t want my hoomins to go out ever again....I prefer to have them at home...safe and available at all times (you can read all about our life at home and of course all about the good times we’ve used to have at home in the good old days before March when hoomins behaved like hoomins and they’ve used to go outside often...in the hoomins comic Life with Ozzy.. and Tolkien available on Amazon)

Of course some hoomins then might also say that we cats might have used this recent and current situation to our own advantage by making sure that we are getting a lot of attention from the hoomins while they are at home and becoming very demanding and some might even say destructive in some occasions if our demands are not met....

Which of course is just false accusations made up probably by those that they don’t like us and want the hoomins and the rest of the world to think that we are very manipulative and lazy...not true of course!

Tolkien of course is not much of help around...he is a bit too lazy for a cat it seems!

This is why I thought that this is a good opportunity for meowself to try and explain how kind, understanding and important we are us, cats, to our hoomins especially at times when they have to spend all of their time at home and when they quite clearly are depending on us!

You see us, cats, do a lot of very important jobs at home which often they go unnoticed and they are not being acknowledged or appreciated by our hoomins. We do these jobs day in and day out because we care and we want to help our hoomins as much as we can, especially in these difficult times!

You see all you hoomins out there you seem to forget that us cats are always around ready to help when we are needed (which is more frequent than you can imagine). 

Us, cats at home we are the best inspectors and checkers of many situations, some of which can even be rather dangerous....

You know and you probably don’t even realise that it is us who always are checking dangerous places like cupboards, wardrobes, draws and even shelves where hazardous things and even threatening creatures might be lurking....we want to make sure you see that our hoomins are safe when they are opening cupboards and draws, etc. We also have to check all new things when they are being brought home from outside such as shopping bags as there are so many things that they can be hiding inside those bags and of course and the most dangerous of them all.....checking those boxes that they so often arriving from amazon.... those boxes they can be such a big threat, believe me, especially to hoomins who often are not aware of such a danger!

We also often test for the hoomins other dangerous things such as their food. We need to make sure of course that it would not harm them and that is safe to eat. This is why I’m  always insisting that my hoomins allow me to test their food from their plates....I’m their food tester you see!

I also have to check frequently the places they go when at home because they can be still proved to be harmful to the hoomins especially those mysterious dark places like the bathroom where they often like to go and insisting on closing the door as well....Those places can be very hazardous to all and especially to hoomins so it’s my cat duty to accompany the hoomins to those places always....so no harm comes to them!

Our jobs of course doesn’t involve only checking places and things around the house. Oh no....You see, us, cats we are also very good therapists too and we help our hoomins when they need us the most.

We are known to be very good at helping the hoomins when they are feeling stressed or they are depressed (you know stroking us and listening to some cat purring are the best treatments a hoomin can get at home) as well as giving them massages or warming parts of the body by just siting there such as their head (and other bodily parts of course). We’d even sit on things that the hoomins are often using such as the bed, chairs and sofas and even in some cases the keyboard they use to do their work to warm them up for them...

And of course let’s not also forget how good we really are as interior designers which means that if it wasn’t for us the hoomins’ homes would have looked so boring and uninspiring. We are always willing to help with decorating the furniture such as sofas and chairs, and we’ll often remove unnecessary items that they don’t look really good in certain locations such as shelves....We will also frequently change the colour of certain pieces of furniture by adding our own unique fashionable touch…by applying some of our own fur....Meowself and Tolkien of course and as you probably already know we are very good with carpets....which is our speciality.... you know we always move them around to better locations in the house!

So yes we do a lot of important jobs at home, a lot more than the ones I’ve just mentioned above and which of course it would take me a very long time to mention them all. Besides it is getting late and it is time to go and check on my hoomins as they would probably already missing me and worrying that I have not been around to keep them company.....besides it’s dinner time anymeows!

Being home all the time is not good for the hoomins it seems as it has some strange effects....

See? Here I am helping my hoomin with his office work... now what does this thing do?

So here we are and another week has just passed since those stranger things started to happen such as hoomins disappearing from outside and then suddenly deciding to spend more time at home keeping company to their cats and other non hoomin members of their family for no apparent reason…although some hoomins appears to have started to emerge now…hmm not sure though that it is really such a good idea!

But yes the whole thing it was rather sudden and very unexpected and at first a rather unpleasant experience some might even say. You know when you had used to the idea of having the home to your meowself during most of the days and then having and without any warning the hoomins becoming indoors only as well and to stop going outside frequently and for long period of times as they’ve used to. I mean my hoomins even stopped going outside on weekends which was soooo peculiar as they’re usually enjoy doing or at least they’ve used to....yes it was so sudden and strange....So at first as many other cats in the very similar situation I wasn’t very happy to have the hoomins on my paws all day and most nights too....You know it felt that it was too much getting all that attention and breakfast very late in the morning and of course not having the house to meowself (and Tolkien of course....and you can read all about our life at home and of course all about the good times we’ve used to have at home in the good old days before March when hoomins behaved like hoomins and they’ve used to go outside often...in the hoomins comic Life with Ozzy.. and Tolkien available on Amazon) not only during the day but also at night time as well when hoomins used to be asleep and meowself and Tolkien could then have a little meow time to ourselves to play and have some fun.

But of course and after of so many weeks of the same situation I’ve finally realised that hoomins, well my hoomins at least, were here to stay for good and that the whole thing was after all the best thing that it could have happened to any cat as it seemed to be working in my favour.  By having the hoomins at home it also meant that I would never had to have empty food bowls ever again and being bored especially at times when Tolkien can’t be asked to play....yes and as I’ve said it before it is really good to have your hoomin servants at home all the time as you can always make use of them when you need them even when they appear to be busy....

I mean my hoomins tend to do during the day (and the other hoomin often during the night) what they call work but of course that is not something that it really has any affect on meowself as I can still get the attention I want....As you only need to sit on the hoomin’s lap or walk all over their laptop’s keyboard and they would simply give you all the attention you need....it’s so simple and it never fails....hoomins can’t resist you!

That Tolkien sometimes  behaves like a rather lazy long annoying cat!

And of course having the hoomins at home all the time it doesn’t really mean as some other hoomins might say that we are very likely to develop certain bad habits because we are being served (not spoiled) so well by the hoomins. Meowself for example as well as Tolkien of course we have not become very attached to the hoomins..quite the opposite in fact as we like and try to have our own space. Now and in the few occasions that we might have been seen to be following the hoomins around the house is just because we just want to make sure that the hoomins would not come to any harm to themselves...you know how careless sometimes these hoomins can be. Besides it is a well known fact that the hoomins don’t like to be left alone so we’ll occasionally follow them...so they don’t feel lonely of course.

On the contrary it is the hoomins I think that they have started developing some rather peculiar (some might even say bad) habits since they’ve become indoors only...

Like for example doing a lot of what they call exercising and even trying to eat healthy because they keep saying that they need to keep fit and stay healthy....I mean I have never seen them eating so much fruit and vegetables before and moving so much when they are at home....I’m really worried that they would soon force us to do exercising as well too....I really don’t like the idea of doing cat yoga and most definitely I’m not at all keen on eating healthy and losing some weight....after all I’m not fat...I just look deceivingly round....

As for this other accusation that I have been heard to be singing at night it’s of course utterly nonsenses...I’m not doing any singing or make strange sounds...it’s all Tolkien of course...he is the one who likes talking and singing....

Anymeows better go now....it has been a tiring day after all....you know helping the hoomins with their work and try to keep them entertained now that they are at home all the time so they don’t get bored and start doing silly thing like exercising it’s such a hard work for any cat.....

About such silly things as bullying and any other false accusations that you might have heard....

See? When you need one there is no one around to entertain you!

So here we are again, at the start of another month, the first summer month of course and things once again haven't changed that much....well OK maybe they have changed a little bit....not sure if it is for the better or the worse though! Hoomins going outdoors again….hmmm!

Well and anymeows my hoomins are still at home full time and now I know for certain that they have become indoor only hoomins. Although the other day they did something very peculiar which kinda surprised both meowself and Tolkien....because and as you’ll see it was so out of character for my hoomins to do so....Very unexpectedly they both went outside at the same time, you know together....Of course they do still occasionally go outside for some time, mostly to do what they call shopping especially one of my hoomins at least but never together. They haven’t gone outside together for many many weeks now...But that wasn’t the only thing that it was strange....no, no! It was the time they went outside...very very early in the morning....Meowself and Tolkien were still asleep on bed when the hoomins, OK, one of the hoomins got up (the other hadn’t gone to bed yet it seems) and then they both went outside for sometime. They were talking about doing something like watching some kind of birdies and wildlife of some sort that apparently  it needed to be done early before other hoomins were out and about or other birdies or something similar….which of course it didn’t make a lot of sense!

Well the whole thing it was too ridiculous in my opinion as they could have easily watched the birdies from the livingroom or bedroom windows since we get a lot of birdies on the feeder (along with that pesky squirrel of course and who by the way is back again....yesterday he spend most of the afternoon in the feeder chomping away all the poor birdies food....such a troublesome bushy tail creature) and of course and most absurdly the idea of actually seing any hoomins outdoors...really now, they are no hoomins outside anymore or at least they weren’t any till recently of course! Tolkien is sooo stupid...he thinks he is going to catch that pesky squirrel!

Although today I must admit I’ve spotted quite a few to he honest (you know pesky hoomins not squirrels) something that both meowself and Tolkien didn’t really like. To tell you the truth I do prefer it when other hoomins are not around and my own hoomins are at home all the time! You see when hoomins are not around there are more birdies and other animals around and the parks, canals and other places where the hoomins can’t go anymore are staying clean and look nice without all that rubbish that hoomins often leave behind....As for my own hoomins and as I’ve said it before I like to have them around all the time to give me the attention I want, to entertain me and of course to keep my food bowls full at all times. They are good servants my hoomins you see and I do prefer to have them indoors every day and night....besides without the hoomins around that pest Tolkien would have been too much to cope with.

You know as I’ve mentioned it before many times now that he is such a bully and always gets me into some kind of trouble and manages to convince the hoomins to take his side because he makes all these cute noises/meows and pretends to talk to hoomins which of course and as we have already established they really love it when we meow to them and act like we are talking to them and we are having a serious conversation....not true as hoomins don’t understand a meow we are saying of course!

But Tolkien when we are playing and I’m doing him here a favour and play with him when he constantly nags me to play even when I’m not in the mood to do so he often acts like he is being tortured or bullied by meowself....Then the hoomins believe that we are playing too rough and try to intervene so we don’t get too far, like we don’t know how to stick to the rules when playing…we are cats after all, not silly hoomins!  So and as I’ve said it before all that noise Tolkien is making and pretending that I’m rough handling him and even goes to such length as to let his fur come loose so the hoomins can find it on the carpet and think that I’m responsible and that I’m actually pulling his fur with my teeth and claws is only an act, he just plays the drama queen and the whole thing is absurd really!

So one more time and to to be totally clear on the matter I’m not bullying Tolkien and I’m not playing aggressively with him or the hoomins....I’m very gentle with Tolkien (and the hoomins) even if he is quite big now and still very stupid....

I mean and seriously now what cat cat could have ever been scared of something that silly as the hoomin’s flip flops and go into hiding when he sees the hoomin wearing them and walking around in the house....they are not any new strange species and they are not a threat to anybody… they are just hoomin shoes which she always wears in the summer when it’s hot! Such a stupid kitten Tolkien still is! 

Anymeows better go now as Tolkien tries to get my attention again and I’m really pooped! Besides hoomins are too busy and they try to ignore him...perhaps if the hoomin has refilled my bowl again I could try to ignore him too!

Hoomins are still at home all the time and Tolkien has now become very talkative....

Here I am again trying to get some meowself time....but the hoomins are always around!

So here we are another week has just passed and things haven’t changed much....oh wait, well they have changed a bit!

You know how things sometimes just get out of hand and there is not much that you can really do. 

So when I finally got used to the idea that my hoomins are here to stay....which after all and if you think about it for us cats is not the worst thing that it could happen since and at the end of the day is good to have your servants around and available when you need them, Tolkien suddenly started becoming an annoying issue...,

I don’t really know what is the cause for that change in his behaviour… maybe it is his age, after all he is now 1 year old,  he is big boy (literally he is really big) now and a very loud one it seems.

Well, Tolkien was always a bit vocal especially with the hoomins since his arrival but because he was still small and some (not meowself) might even say rather cute his whining little voice wasn’t that a big issue....but now it is, at least for me anymeows! Yeap Tolkien again....trying to walk all over me as always!

I know of course that some cats have figured out that meowing can work really well for them because hoomins for some strange reason that I could never really understood seem to like to use different some might say strange sounds, lots of them and they’d then also react more positively towards other creatures that they are vocal too because they kinda believe that the other creatures are trying to talk to them in the same way! For some even more bizarre reason they appear to even somehow understand some of those sounds from other animals....like our meows for example....well OK sort of! They seem to understand what we usually try to tell them without really knowing what we actually are saying. Peculiar ha? They can’t even speak our language because of course they are not cats although they do behave often a lot like us! I guess the reason is because hoomins are not that intelligent after all!

So and despite the fact that hoomins are clueless when it comes to the cats way of communication they appear to be more motivated to do what we want them to do when we meow to them (maybe they think that we are talking to them, you know we are having what they call a conversion with them).

So and if you really want to convince your hoomins to do what you need your best method is either to meow to them or to simply play the cute card, something that really works for me as you already know I don’t like wasting too much energy on vocalising....just been cute works just fine!

But Tolkien has become one of these cats that he won’t shut up...now that he has figured out that he can make hoomins do what he wants them to do he uses all these annoying constant meows to achieve it. So it is all the time meow this, meow that and even some more meow!

Of course some might say that perhaps it is his breed or something similar as certain cats are apparently  more talkative than others which of course I don’t really buy as he simply has just figured out all these months how to manipulate the hoomins. He would use all these cute meows and then the hoomins would simply fall for it! So now every time he meows it’s always “What you want Tolkien?’ and ‘What’s the matter boy?’ and ‘Do you want more food Tolkien, do you want to play Tolkien?’ or even worst ‘Are you been bullied again Tolkien?’. Pathetic.

Now and to make things clear I don’t bully Tolkien. I’m only trying to toughen him up a little, it’s all part of his training, you see! As for all that black fur that hoomins say that they are keep finding it’s definitely not my doing....Tolkien has a lot fur and some of it let’s say gets a bit loose....on the carpet. Plus and because he is very vocal every time I try to teach him how to be a proper cat and especially when hoomins are close up he makes these pathetic little squeaks like somebody is trying to kill him or something which of course makes hoomins think that I’m bullying him.....Quite the 

opposite actually....he is bullying me!

Yes Tolkien has become annoyingly vocal and hoomins are falling for his little squeaks and meows and he gets what he wants and he even gets me into trouble as well. Well I guess I could also do the same and start to meow to get more attention from hoomins but sometimes wanting too much attention can backfire as one of my hoomin’s likes to be very affectionate and it is really hard to clean certain parts of your body such as the top of your head when hoomins get too excited (by the way I’m not OCD either).

Oh well better go now and check on those hoomins and that pesky Tolkien, we don’t want him to start eating my food now....you know how easily hoomins can be convinced when you play the cute card….

So another week has just passed and I still have to cope with Ozzy and the hoomins at home…

Here I’m having a little rest on my sofa...see how long I am? Longer than that pest Tolkien of course!

So yes here we are again at the start of another week, May has almost gone as well and things unfortunately haven’t changed at all. Yeap, you’ve guessed it! Hoomins are still at home full time and Tolkien has become as bad as the hoomins it seems now that he is 1 year old....You would have thought that now that he is older at least some common cat sense would have finally settled with him...but no, he is as stupid and gullible as he has always been...no change here!

Yeap just my luck....lazy hoomins and a kitten/youngster with no brains....

I wouldn’t have blamed you if you had thought that after of all these months of hard training from meow part that he would have finally learnt at least the basic cat behaviours but not our Tolkien....he still doesn’t know anything at all…not even simple things just as how to cover after he has been to the litter tray…nope he has not a clue and despite all his failing attempts to paint instead the litter tray he doesn’t even comes close to cover anything and therefore I end up covering instead everything for him while and at the same time I’ve need also to figure out which litter tray in which room he had just used....Sometimes I wonder why the hoomins added so many litter trays in the house....I mean and don’t get me wrong it’s good to have choices but when you live with Tolkien these might not be very good choices as he would visit a different litter tray every time he wants to use one which of course it makes extra hard for me to locate which one he has just used!!!

Of course when you share your home with other cats it is good to have choices so there are no arguments about who would go where and when but when you live with Tolkien....well let’s say that is hard to keep up with him.

Tolkien stretching on hoomins’ bed...he is not that long really...just annoying!

Yes Tolkien can be such a difficult to understand and deal with kitten.... even worse than the hoomins at times it seems. I mean he wants to be a tough and brave cat who is not afraid of anything and anybody but deep down he is really such a scary kitten who gets easily scared by the most ridiculous sounds from outside that they are not even that loud sometimes and then he’ll quickly go into hiding...While and on the other hand he doesn’t seem to get scared by the really scary things such as the hoomins vacuum cleaner, that noisy monster but and at the same time he is petrified of the small robot cleaner even if it doesn’t hardly make any noise....

Strange and in many ways still a kitten I guess....He tries to show off when the hoomins are around and he pretends that he is brave and tries to bully me....if that is possible of course although sometimes I do play along pretending that I actually get bullied by Tolkien as this seems to be working well with the hoomins who’ll then take my side and tell him off....well kinda...they don’t really tell off Tolkien or meowself to be honest...they do let us get away with almost everything really!

So yes Tolkien is still as bad as he was as a kitten despite the fact that he is a lot older now and....longer too and quite big, a lot bigger actually.....To be honest and if you didn’t know Tolkien as well as I do you’d have thought from his current size that he is a formidable and scary big cat and he could have easily have hold his ground and appeared scary and mean to other creatures....especially those outside  that they keep pestering us like that annoying squirrel and wood pigeons that they keep coming to the bird feeders.... But unfortunately even that pesky squirrel and fat pigeons outside are by now well aware of the fact that Tolkien is not scary at all....to kinda think of it I don’t think that they are even scared of meowself....those pfft annoying pests....one day I’d get my little revenge.

Anymeows better go now....Tolkien is probably already somewhere pretending to be hiding waiting for me to entertain him and the hoomins bizarrely enough they seem to be busy at the moment and they are ignoring us....frustrating really because I kinda need my servants right now!

Tolkien is one year old....how time flies even when the pesky hoomins are still at home!

Trying some of that hoomin food that Tolkien seems to like....very tasty!

Yeap it is true....Tolkien is one year old... since Sunday the 10th of May....How time passes even when you don’t have fun and you have to cope with hoomins being constantly at home and getting on your nerves sometimes and being sooo clingy and always everywhere you go....well, at least the other times they can be somewhat useful…keeping your food bowl full and entertaining you when you are really bored!

So yes I couldn’t believe it when when the hoomins started talking about Tolkien now been one year old and they were also making all that fuss about it like it was such a big thing! You know it’s Tolkien after all so there was no need for all this over the top behaviour from the hoomins…you know when they often over reacting about almost everything and behaving in a rather silly way…when they keep saying things like....’oh our kitten is a big boy now....hasn’t he grown?’ Well, you know the rest…

Of course Tolkien has grown, he is not a kitten anymore, he is not weeks old or even months old anymore....now we can at last start counting in years his age and stop saying that he is just a  kitten and then let him get away with everything he does because he is just a kitten…  finally!

Here he is with his big ears...just a few weeks old...how ugly he really was then!

But and to be fair hoomins have a valid point here….he has really grown. I mean I can’t really believe how fast this year has gone....I still remember seeing him for the first time when he was a few weeks old. A rather skinny little thing with those big ears, out of proportion big legs and a massively long tail....he looked like a bat with a tail and no wings....boy was he ugly! Despite his real ugly appearance though for a kitten hoomins were kept telling him how cute he was....you know they were telling all these lies because he was still quite small and he was feeling rather scared finding himself suddenly in a new home with new hoomins who although they were trying their best to make him feel at home they were new hoomins to him after all  and he was in a new and probably rather scary environment even if he was too young and stupid to care that much....He was a kitten after all and everything new after 5 minutes is exciting and worth investigating....oh to be young and that stupid like Tolkien once was again! But he was lucky that the my hoomins adopted him and that I was of course also around....because I did feel sorry for him and also and because I’m a kind and considerate cat I’ve accepted him straight away and welcomed him into my home...

Yeap, 1 year old and still very stupid....well hidden, indeed!

Of course things would have been a lot different if I was a different cat and had decided that I didn’t want a kitten to invade my home....after all kittens can be hard work to train and teach them how to be proper cats and not all cats can take a youngster under their paw and try to train him the ways of a cat like meowself....you know to be a responsible cat that knows how to look after himself and his hoomins of course!

Tolkien on the other hand was never the easiest kitten to teach anything at all....you know how some kittens can be....no brains and very stupid....yes Tolkien always had been a kitten with no brains who thinks that everything is a game and would try everything and go everywhere and get everybody else (well usually meowself of course) into trouble. So and despite all my efforts and to some extend hoomins too he never really learnt anything really despite all our efforts and he would always somehow manage to get into some kind of trouble which of course it was never my own doing....

We kinda hoped of course that as he would get older he would start at least learn some basic cat skills like for example how to cover after he has been to the litter tray....but as I’ve said it before unfortunately he is Tolkien, a different type of kitten, one with no  brain it seems. So and no matter how many times I’ve shown him he still hasn’t figured out how to cover properly so I have to cover for him every time he visits the litter tray....such a disgrace for the cat race really when he can’t do even the simplest thing that a cat should be able to do....He still hasn’t figured out how to convince hoomins to feed him when they go to the kitchen….he simply just spreads himself on the kitchen floor and tries to trip over the hoomins or attacks their feet and bothers them instead of convincing them that he is really starving and he needs urgently food….hopeless, really!

Yeap,Tolkien is still Tolkien and despite the fact that he isn’t that small any more and his ears don’t look that big anymore he looks kinda cute and can be convincing if he tries the cute card with the hoomins… 

But what can you do? He is Tolkien after all and he is part of my family....like those pesky hoomins who are staying at home all the time these days. At least hoomins can be useful I guess....as for Tolkien...well he is at least entertaining and keeps the hoomins amused and meowself at times company...

How to make the most of your hoomins now that they are at home all the time…

This one of my hoomins servants....he is very good for walkies when I don’t feel like walking meowself!

So now it has been how many weeks? Does anybody remember or care anymore? 

So the hoomins it seems that they are now here to stay for good and probably permanently at home....well my hoomins are planning to it seems anyway as they don’t have any plans for going back to their old work place anymore....they say that they would now be working from home permanently....good grief!

Well of course at first it came as a big shock to me and it took me a while, a very long while to get used to the idea of having the hoomins at home permanently all the time....As I was used to have my home to meowself (well OK and sharing it with Tolkien of course) for the many hours during the day when the hoomins were at work and doing my own thing (well you can read about our life at home and all about the good times we used to have at home in the good old days before March in the hoomins comic Life with Ozzy.. and Tolkien available on Amazon) ....and enjoying many peaceful hours and saving in the meantime my energy for when the hoomins were coming home in the evening so to be ready to welcome them of course....

So of course and being a cat that he likes his routine I didn’t like it at all when things suddenly change. I wasn’t really totally against having the hoomins at home as they can be quite useful when you need things done and of course to also having my food and biscuit bowls constantly full but and on the other hand I didn’t like also the fact that they were always there, everywhere, watching you all the time and wanting to know where you were and what you were doing all the time....You know being so clingy and affectionate constantly....no privacy to do your own thing…you now like napping without being watched or hearing the hoomins keep saying all the time how cute you really look…those hoomins always stating the obvious, I do know how cute I am hoomins for purrsake!  

But of course and now that I have kinda got used to the idea that the hoomins are here to stay after all...well I have made the necessary changes and adaptations to this new way of life! Besides us cats are very good in adapting to new things pretty easily after all we do live with hoomins who are sooo unpredictable and changing their minds all the time!

So finally I came back to my senses…you see I’ve forgotten the one basic thing...that hoomins are here after all to serve us....which of course it means that this is after all the best opportunity  to make the most of having the hoomins at home all the time....There is no point of meowself getting annoyed and wishing that things would one day go back to be normal again. Instead I can simply turn things around and use the hoomins to do whatever I want....Besides they are so easy to manipulate…sorry I meant to convince to do what you want them to do when you need something to be done!

Of course and as each of us, cats, is unique and we all have our own special ways of doing things  we naturally use different methods to communicate with our hoomins and tell them what they need to do. Tolkien for example likes to meow or as hoomins would say ‘talk a lot’ so he does all the talking with the hoomins and meows at them all the time and funny enough they seem to understand him although they can’t really meow very well themselves despite all their terrible efforts! But and in my case and since I am a cat with very few meows....(you know I don’t believe on using meows and other noises to make the hoomins do what I want them to do....as this is such a primitive way these days and it can take a lot of time and effort sometimes to get your message across) I use a different way to tell my hoomins what I need. 

 Nope there is no need for me to meow to the hoomins....My method is very simple and effective. I only need to stand next to them or on them if necessary and then just look at them and they pretty quickly get the message...Empty bowls are no longer an issue....sitting on my favourite spot at the time I want to sit and have my snooze is no problem either (unless of course Tolkien decides to sit there first....that pesky kitten....). Of course sometimes hoomins would try their hardest to ignore meowself but again there is always another way to get their attention.... if sitting next to them or on them doesn’t work then you simply stand in front of the telly if they are watching something or on the computer if they are working....Sometimes of course hoomins might become for a short time rather vocal themselves and they’d then say some hoomins words which I don’t think that they are very nice but in the end they would eventually give in to all my demands....I’m too cute for them to resist!

Yes life has proven to be rather good and hoomins are proving to be very useful to have around all the time....they have become my purrfect servants....Of course there is still the Tolkien issue which sometimes gets in my way or gets the attention from the hoomins before meowself but he is still very gullible and easily influenced and of course he would often do what I tell him to do.....he he!

Anymeows time to go....feeling rather peckish....and I can’t see my hoomins around
